About The Club

CLUB HISTORY

The Los Angeles Dragons were founded in 2010 by a group of passionate footballers, both Australian and American. With thousands of Australian expatriates living in the Los Angeles metro area, starting a footy club from the ground up has been challenging, but also very rewarding.

The Dragons compete in the USAFL Western Region, which includes teams from Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Denver, and others. The Dragons took home a Division II USAFL National Championship in 2014 and have been regular participants in tournaments all across America.

The Dragons have been in Division One every season since 2015 with the 2017 (Runners-Up)  & 2018 (3rd) being the club’s most successful stretch. In more recent years the Dragons have finished between 4th-8th in the nation for the past 5 seasons.

Whilst serious about football when on the field, the Club has very strong social roots. The Dragons host a number of events in LA throughout the year, including the largest AFL Grand Final viewing party in the United States with over 500 attendees from 2016-2019.

The club is always keen to bring in new members, regardless of experience or skill level. Players from many backgrounds and experience levels have suited up for the Dragons over the years, from American rookies to former Australian Football League players. Come down and train with us!
